Marcus Widener
Born and raised in Fremont County, Marcus Widener has a deep-rooted love for Colorado and a lifelong commitment to public service. A veteran and dedicated firefighter, he serves with courage, humility, and unwavering commitment to his community. Marcus began his fire service career in 2006 as a volunteer — a role that quickly evolved from a hobby into a calling.
His passion for the fire service led him to earn a degree in Fire Science, become a certified EMT, and ultimately pursue a full-time career in firefighting. Today, as Fire Chief of the Deer Mountain Fire Protection District, Marcus brings nearly two decades of experience, leadership, and integrity to the department. His mission is simple: to serve others and protect the community with professionalism, respect, and dedication.
