PUBLIC NOTICE: FIRE CHIEF FINALIST ANNOUNCEMENT

The Deer Mountain Fire Protection District Board of Directors is pleased to announce the finalist for the position of Fire Chief. This follows a comprehensive recruitment and evaluation process conducted to identify the most qualified candidate to lead the District’s fire and emergency services.

Fire Chief Finalist:

• Duty Chief Marcus Widener

The Board of Directors extends its appreciation to all applicants who expressed interest in serving our community. The finalist will participate in a public meet-and-greet on July 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. For immediate information, please join us at the next public meeting on July 16, 2025 at 6 p.m.

May 2025 - John Decker was appointed Interim Fire Chief.

April 2025 - Board announced that Tamara Jones resigned her position as Fire Chief.

November 2024 - Board selected Tamara Jones as the next Deer Mountain Fire Chief. 

September 2024 - Dave Nowlan was appointed Interim Fire Chief.

Fire Chief JR Niblett has served the Deer Mountain Community with dedication.  His final meeting was September 18, 2024.
